Forensic Analysis
This course focuses on conventional methods of chemical analysis for the interrogation of materials with the goal of characterizing physical evidence from a crime scene for use in criminal proceedings. Analysis of materials such as drugs, ignitable liquids, explosives, gunshot residue, inks, paper, fibers, glass, and paint, among other matrices, will be covered. Lectures will be supplemented with practical laboratory exercises utilizing techniques commonly practiced in forensic laboratories.
