
This introduction to GIS course is uniquely designed for those wishing to use examples from agriculture, environmental, & biological studies. By learning QGIS from this course, students can take advantage of the software’s wider access and freedom and as well as greater speed and performance of the software in viewing, editing, and assessing of geospatial data and benefit from continuously available resources made available by the open-source community. Geographic Information Systems (GIS) are becoming increasingly important as access to location data is becoming ubiquitous in our modern lives. The need is for educated and well-trained agricultural and environmental professionals to leverage and make the most of this space-aware technology and navigate through the bright future of geospatial analysis and location-based services.
